There is a whole range of ideas and innovations around the increasing amounts of used coffee grounds that can be found in coffee shops, restaurants and bars.

Two videos on the BBC website give ideas as diverse as growing mushrooms to help with recycling using coffee grounds collected around Newcastle Upon Tyne area and a company in Taiwan called Singtex making functional bio-fabric and clothes which includes used coffee!

You can see more details on these entrepreneurial and innovative companies and projects here – interestingly the Singtex owner seems to believe strongly in delegation and trusting his 800 odd employees with all but major decisions.
